Céline, Jul 29, 2023 I've been training there for 3 months and I feel much more confident and aware in my daily life. Being a woman, I was a bit cautious at first but I found it to be a safe environment, the guys are kind and respectful. At each session you learn something useful, with the explanations as to why do it this way and not that way, in which situations to use it, etc. Any questions are welcomed and answered with details. This is helpful both physically to get in shape (which I was not) and mentally to feel safer and stronger.

  • Self Defence Skill Development

Krav Maga is the most complete self defence system developed with a sole purpose of preparing the ordinary people to survive the common assaults, social and anti-social violence, and the worst case scenarios including the terrorist attacks.   • Health and Fitness

Krav Maga develops functional fitness and core strength without bulking up. If your goal is to become leaner and firmer version of yourself, you should seriously give Krav Maga a go, even if Self Defence may not be your top priority right now. The best bit about using Krav Maga as your fitness enabler is there is no appearance bias or pressure whatsoever, as our training focus is on mindset and ability. No counting calories, weight you lifted or minutes you've spent on a machine. When you train with us, the focus is on you and your progress.

  • Brain Conditioning

Training Krav Maga challenges your brain as much as it does your body. If you go to a regular gym and use cardio machines or weights, after learning the movements on your first few sessions with a gym instructor, you don't learn anything new. This is the main reason gyms have TVs with video and music content, and machines provide internet and multimedia content; to help you overcome the boredom. If you personally struggle with excercise where your mind is disconnected from the very physical activity you're engaging in, perhaps you should try something that requires your full attention and engages both your mind and body at the same time. During Krav Maga training, you have to be fully present as you learn to use your body and mind in a completely new way, often under challenging scenarios.

  • Confidence, Mental Health & Toughness

Over the years we've trained many people who overcame their shyness, anxiety, lack of self belief, confidence and co-ordination while training with us. Seeing people eventually come out of their shell is very rewarding experience, especially as their newly found confidence translates to other spheres of their lives. When we train, our bodies release feel-good hormones. Training can also help to reduce stress, anxiety and improve sleep. However, there are no magic tricks we can use to get you there. You have to show up regularly, and we'll ensure you work as hard as you can during the training. Showing up is the hardest part people struggle with. But once you overcome this and create a good habit, your ability to focus to your goals in life outside the training will also improve.

  • Consistent Training Schedule

Right now, we train 4 times per week, with classes available for every skill level every training day, starting at 6:30pm. It is scientifically proven that having a regular schedule helps create good habits faster, and once you create a habit of turning up to training sessions regularly, the rate of your progress and all the benefits that come from training with us will accelerate immensly. We also have an ability to add extra sessions if attendance in existing classes is close to reaching capacity.

  • 1.5 hours of training each session

We allow 50% or more time per training session for our classes, when compared to general gyms, combat sports and martial arts. This way the warmup and conditioning doesn't take away from the lessons and we can cover 'what-if' scenarios that regularly come up. Also, we can adjust the speed of the class to the audience, ensuring that everyone makes a progress during the class, instead of rushing through, to be ready in time for another group that trains after you.

Overhead Knife Defence

If you'd like to JOIN our CLUB to LEARN to DEFEND yourself, provided you are minimum 14 years of age, you can experience how we train in regular classes by requesting a trial. This is a great way to get a taste of our training and gain a clear understanding of its unique value proposition. We train at 126 Pt Chevalier Rd, Pt Chevalier. Auckland. Krav Maga classes available for the trial are on MONDAYS, TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS 6:30pm-8:00pm. WEDNESDAY 6:30pm Striking Class can be booked only as your 2nd trial class once you attend your Krav Maga class. The trial bookings are confirmed over the phone as in addition to discussing your training goals, we brief you on what to expect, confirm if you have any injuries that may be aggravated by training, and address any concerns you may have, so make sure you provide preferred date and time for us to contact you. After the trial, usually at the end of your second class, we will check in with you to address any concerns you may have, confirm whether or not you'd like to start training with us, and provide a guidance through the joining process should you choose to join our club. Another pathway into club membership is attendance of the Krav Maga Basics introductory course, after which you can join the club right away. Please note, we do not provide training to anyone with propensity for violence, criminal record, gang or extremist group affiliation.
